Mäßige bis intensive, präzise Flak wurde am Ziel angetroffen. Es gab keine feindliche Flugzeugabwehr. Ausmaß des Schadens unbekannt. Flak soll in der Nähe des Flugzeugs eingeschlagen sein. Das Flugzeug warf seine Bomben ab und stürzte mit rauchendem Motor Nummer drei ab.

HI: My father is Joseph Frechette and is still hanging in there. He was 98 this past March 19th. I wanted to thank you for posting this information. My father wrote an account of the loss of ‚Miss Cue‘ back in 2004. Would you like to see it? 1/2 page typed. I can confirm Ward Price was killed when his chute failed to open. Granville Billingsley was the first person out of the aircraft and escaped capture for 8 days.

Hi Thomas, is your father still with us? I just read that Miss Cue’s Tail Gunner, Clarence “Bud” Sheperd, is still alive and looking for any surviving crew members.

Yes Clarence Bud Shepard are still alive. His sister, Betty, is my mother in law. Bud still works and drives to this day.

My dad, Oscar Richard, was the bombardier on 42-31246, piloted by Neill Britt, that was shot down by flak near Abbeville, France on January 14, 1944. They were members of the 384th Bombardment Group.
I am so impressed by the accuracy of your information! Nine crew members, including my dad, were captured. The navigator, Ernie Lindell, evaded capture and eventually made it back to their base at Grafton Underwood, England five months later with the help of the French Resistance. All ten crew members lived to be old men. My dad was the last to go, on May 7, 2013, the 68th anniversary of Germany’s surrender. Fittingly, his birthday was December 7th (1921). Two important dates in WWII.
