My paternal Grandfather, second Lieutenant James Lewis Tyree of the U.S. Army air Corps was Obama deer on this plane, “Our baby” and I have the photo of the crew in front of the plane At grand island Nebraska before leaving for North Africa in 1943. All crewmembers with him in the photo except for him were shot down over Regensburg Austria. One was killed and the rest captured. One amputee and one paralyzed.
