Hi, I realize this is a very long shot but wanted to ask if anyone looking at this knows anything about my great uncle, John Winter. He was one of the 3 KIA during the Mar 3/4 raid over Berlin. Until I started looking into his service a few years ago, my family was all under the impression that his entire crew was lost. Knowing that some of his crew survived, I am hoping to hear from any relatives of those men to see if we can understand more about his service to our country and his last moments. I’m desperately wishing I would have known this years ago when some of his crewmates may have still been alive, but hope to hear that some stories of my Uncle Johns last mission may have been preserved through diary/journal or stories. I do have a copy of his journal that covers many of the earlier missions he was a part of, and will gladly share that with anyone who asks.
Thank you, and I’m hopeful to hear from anyone who knows more about this S/N and its crew!

Josh, you should look into the MACR (2798) report and German KU report (KU-1067) for this plane first. This will give you plenty of information to start with.
For example: John Winter was buried in grave 78 at Rotenburg (Hann.) cemetery.
