MSgt. USAF (ret.) Nicholas Louis La Rocco, DFC, AMVVVV, of 535 Seybert Street, Hazleton, PA, born on May 26, 1918, age 105, now living in Naples, FL, was the radioman and rear gunner of this aircraft on the Schweinfurt-Regensburg raid.
It was my father’s 25th and final mission. It seems fitting that the likely oldest, although hopefully not only, living survivor of that raid is the crew member of a ship that was ultimately lost in combat.
