B-17 42-38083 / Man ‘O War II – Horsepower Ltd Details

My father, Robert P. Casey was the co-pilot of this plane. He is alive and well at 97 years of age. Thankfully survived the horror of that 2nd day of November 1944 and has led an exemplary life to which we should all aspire

Did she only have one waist gunner when she went down, or has his name been sadly lost?
The round 2 release of the Lindberg line model includes slightly inaccurate tail markings for this fort. It has the number wrong at “234083” and doesn’t include the nose art.

The old hands said that since August 1944 the B-17 crews had been reduced from 10 to 9 in order to get more planes into the air.

I have been doing some research about my great uncle, Robert West, who was a navigator on the predecessor to Man O’ War II and then on Man O’ War II starting early January 1944 until at least May 1944. He served with Capt William Burtt. Happy to share the information that I have.
