Todd, my dad, Donald L. O’Neill, took or received a pic of The Dingleberry Kids with (I presume) a pilot standing under the nose. My dad was a waist gunner, later an engineer/top gunner. Happy to share the pic with you if you like.

My Dad was a co-pilot with the W.W. Wood crew. He had his bomber jacket with the „Dingleberry Kids“ on the back.

My dad was pilot of this plane at the end of the war.

My Dad flew 34 missions out of Thurleigh. I have a „Pilots Navigation Kit“ satchel with all of his records, including battle orders (including D-Day) and many other contemporaneous records and photographs (including the one on the book cover). Also my son and I took a ride in a restored B-17 out of the Michigan Flight Museum in Belleville, Michigan.
