Augenzeugenbericht
Das Flugzeug vom Typ B-17-G, Seriennummer 42-97999, wurde nahe Eisenach, Deutschland, durch Flak-Beschuss am rechten Flügel getroffen. Der Pilot zog die Maschine auf gleicher Höhe neben unsere, und es war kein Feuer sichtbar. Das Flugzeug folgte der Formation bis zu einer Position von etwa 50°12’N – 07°18’E, wo beobachtet wurde, wie fünf (5) Fallschirme das Flugzeug verließen. Das betreffende Flugzeug wurde zuletzt mit Kurs in westlicher Richtung gesehen.

Hello, I am looking for information on my late grandfather, Richard A. Eidemiller. I have a copy of his instrument pilot certificate which says he was a member of the 324th BTG but have no other info. I reached out to the National Archives and they said his records were destroyed in a fire years ago. Any help you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
