My father, Francis B Johnson or “Ole” was the navigator on the Flak Shack! The only flight he wasn’t on, due to a flu shot, was when they were shot down.

My Grandfather, William L Ferguson, was top turret gunner/navigator. I’m fortunate to have a letter he sent my grandmother after being rescued as a POW. It describes the actions of the crew from a week before they were shot down until he was captured as a POW. If any family members of the rest of the crew are interested, I’d love to share it.
