Can anyone tell me where the information came from that 43-38078 crashed at Schonau? My uncle was Newton Parker, who bailed out over Klococov, Czechoslovakia. When I talked to Robert Norvell in 2004, pilot of S-078, he told me he put the plane, which was flying west, in hard right rudder and then he and Wendall Snyder bailed out directly over Plzen, Czechoslovakia. Schonau is 250 miles west of Plzen. Supposedly S-078 crashed just north of Plzen – unless it flew 250 miles west unmanned.

Shannon, my uncle was 1st Lt. Lorenzo G. SmithJr. I’d love a photo of the crew if you have one. I have a photo of the monument erected in the Czech Republic honoring the crew, if you’d like it.
