Hello, I am the Wing Historian for B-17 Texas Raiders and I wanted to submit two small corrections for addition to your otherwise superb B-17 database! Please contact me if you have any questions:
1) A/C was assigned to VW-1 squadron on 1/15/54 at Barbers Pt. Hawaii
2) Based on two different flight crew records, one of whom belongs to a current member of our Wing, plus recently unearthed engine & propeller maintenance records belonging to the aircraft, we can find no evidence that she was ever in Japan. In fact, the evidence we have refutes that supposition. We have since fixed this longstanding “error” in our own history and ask that it be fixed here, as well.
3) In 2016 Texas Raiders moved to Conroe, TX from Spring, TX, so we would like to have that updated as well.
Thank you again for maintaining such a fantastic database. I use it almost daily for various research projects. Keep up the good work!
