Carmichael, Capt Jim Twaddell, Lt Don Tower, Lt Kermit Meyers, Avn Cdt Theo Pascoe, T/Sgt Wallace Carter, S/Sgt Jack Tribble, S/Sgt Sam Tower, S/Sgt Harry Boyer; transferred 40BS then 93BS; shot down Rabual, New Britain 7-Aug-42 in McArthur’s staff rescue attempt, with Harl Pease (MOH), Chester Czechowski (both survived crash landed but later executed); Co-pilot: F/Sgt Fred Earp (RAAF), Navigator: Rich Wood, Bombardier: Bob Burleson, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Rex Matson, Radio Operator: Alvar Liimataien, David Brown, Fred Oettel (7 Killed in Action); Missing Air Crew Report 16020.
