My father-in-law (Ed Brown)was the flight engineer on the Mississippi Miss and I am trying to find out where she is now and does she still fly. If so, does she ever get near Columbia SC?

My grandfather was also the Captain of the Mississippi Miss, i’d be very greatful if you did indeed find more info about the plane!

If you read that little blurb, it says the plane was sold as scrap. 🙁

My dad, Harry L. Hopkins, flew 16 missions on the Mississippi Miss as a Tail Gunner. He also flew 16 other missions on different B-17’s. I would love to find more pictures of The Mississippi Miss for my personal archives.

I have a great picture of my uncle – a navigator – standing in front of Mississippi Miss! I’m not sure how many missions he flew on that particular platform – maybe all of 35 of his combat missions. But I don’t know how to share the photo.
