My father Gus P Lazary army serial number 12 239 850 served in the Army Air Force and was assigned to the 96th Bomb Group. I have a photo of him with his crew at Ardmore, OK taken 1/29/45 in front of a B-17 with the tail marking AR and the number 7111 on the plane below the fuselage. Would the B-17-42-107111 be the same plane? If so, this plane is part of the B-17G-35-DL production block but there is no Unit identified (Bomb group or squadron). I would be glad to email the photo as unable to attach it here. Also if this is the correct, I have a few questions about which missions my father flew, etc. Questions I never asked him before he passed and so regret now that I have grown to appreciate all the sacrifices made for us.
Sincerely,
Katherine Lazary daughter of Gus Lazary
