I am very happy, if my web site is useful 🙂
I very like what I am doing with this web site 🙂
At the moment, I am working on a map with crash sites of the B-17s.
Not very easy. Some B-17, which lost have no crash sites. Have to do a lot of research in that case.

I am a bit confused as to whether this plane 42-29953 was called Man O War / Man O War – Wolfess and whether there was another B-17 called the same name. Can you help here?
My Uncle Enoch Markt, listed on this page was the navigator on this airplane at the time of the mid air collision.
I tried to look on your map of England, to determine where this mid air collision took place, but I could not locate it. Perhaps you do not have it listed.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Presten,
42-29953 / Man o‘ War aka Wolfess went lost during flight training in a mid-air-collision with B-17 #42-30666. No MACR exist for this incident.
The MACR 1402 is wrongly asigned to #42-29953.
The correct B-17 to MACR 1402 is #42-30717 ‘Man O’ War’, which also lost by mi-air-collision on a combat mission.
The original source by Dave Osborne mix both B-17s because of these facts.
Both 42-29953 & 42-30666 are in the map.

Dear Mr Eichers.
I’m a farmer in Chelveston England where your uncle flew from.
I know about this collision and the story behind it. We are starting to put together a memorial dedicating these two crews of Wolfess and Daisy may. I’ve sent a message earlier but I think I sent it wrong .
Your Uncle Enoch Markt will be honoured in this memorial with 20 others and I need your family’s contact.
All the best
Peter
