My mothers cousin, James W Buttermore was the co-pilot on this aircraft when it was shot down, 8 March, 1944. He was in a POW Luft Stalag 1 until the end of the war and returned home to Findley, Ohio. He lived there with his wife Donna until 1984-85 when he passed.

My grandfather was Dick Lemanski. He was the pilot and spent time with Buttermore at Luft Stalag 1. He passed in 2009.
