Hello — The full names of the crew members are for 42-31853 and not 42-31605. I am specifically looking for Allen D. Christiansen who was KIA on May 25, 1944 on a B17. There is a Christiansen listed in the text box but not full name. He was based in Italy and was part of the 32 AAF SQ.
Any help would be greatly appreciated …

you mean, Charles R. Bogar was pilot of B-17 42-31853 and Richard D. McCarthy (https://www.301bg.com/McCarthy_Richard_M2446_301BG.cfm) was pilot of 42-31605?
The crew mixed up in some way?

Hello,
Thanks for the information! Yes my understanding is that 42-31605 pilot was McCarthy. After the war, a member of the bomb group told the family of Allen Christensen that his plane was shot up and heavily damaged. The other plane flown by Bogar intentionally flew close to provide lift to help the damaged B17 stay aloft. Unfortunately the planes collided but truly an act of selfless heroism.
Christensen was on his 48th or 49th mission, He took photos of targets so I think he served on different planes.
