Charles (Rex as he was called by his family) Todd was my great uncle. Thank you for the information. My grandmother still reads the letters that he sent her (She is 94 as of 2022). Rex was 21.

Joseph Vanderstelt was my cousin. My father’s cousin from his mother. Any details would be great. I do know a book was written about this event. “ Junior’s Bracelet”. The writer is a nephew and it’s NF telling the story of the crew and crash. 80 years later a German couple found the bracelet and was able to return it to his great nephew.

I’m always looking for more info. Thanks for the heads up on the book. I’ll be sure to read it.
My brother Joseph K Vanderstelt was born like 20 years later, also on Dec 5th. Weird!
