regarding 42-5991 , a photo exist of this plane in flying with the modified Bendix chin turret added as crew gunnery trainer. documentation states these were done at Cheyenne. However that’ll cation is not shown here which opens several questions.

The Aero B-17 places 42-5991 at several locations/centers and eventually at Cheyenne circa 16 Jun, 1943, which is while gun training program was in progress. That conforms with the photo evidence. That photo is at Fans of the B-17 Flying Fortress (Oct 01, 2026) and my FB group Flying Fortress 1936 1945.
Recommend you add UAL CHY stopover; and
the image of the trainer modification.
