Kurz nach dem Abwurf der Bomben (11:14 Uhr) erhielt #201 einen direkten Flaktreffer zwischen Motor Nr. 3 und Nr. 4, wodurch der Motor Nr. 3 schließlich in Brand geriet. Die Maschine ging in ein Trudeln über und als sie sich dem Boden näherte, flachte sie ab und stürzte in einen Wald bei ca. 4940N – 0650E, wobei der Wald in Brand geriet. Es wurde berichtet, dass sich 5 bis 9 Fallschirme in einer Höhe von 10000 bis 12000 Fuß geöffnet haben.

Ralph M. Martin, Capt. was my dad. Thank you for the research into the fate of Rosalle Ann II as well as That’s All Jack in which my dad also flew. My husband will add this info into our documentation. We have been blessed by the brave and heroic actions of our Veterans. God Bless America.

2LT Lewis M Kamas was my uncle from Freedom, OK. He was a POW at Stalag Luft 1 at Barth, Germany.

Hello. We very probably found the fuel tanks cap of this plane a few days ago at the river ruwer. What’s the odds, heh? We tried to find out of which plane it could be and ended up with the highest propability for it to be from the Rosalie Ann II… If you have interest in this piece please contact us at usko83ATgmx.de(replace AT with @) if there is anyone who should have this it’s the captns daughter… Maybe it has emotional value to you.
