Navigator Doherty and Engineer Killarney were also helped by Dutch underground members, but were arrested on 7 November 1943 and were POWs. Only Bombardier Donald Mills managed to evade, helped by Dutch, Belgian and French patriots and made it back to England via Gibraltar. Crashed on the house of Mr Rijksen, of Soestdijkseweg, in De Bilt, near Utrecht, Holland. Missing Air Crew Report – MACR 1018.
