This B-17, Dix Nights in Telergma was not flying in January 1944 because it was shot down on 11 December 1943 over the North Sea on raid to Emden, Germany. They were the lead plane. My uncle, SSgt Jack Fariss was on that plane. Captain Skogmo wax the pilot. My uncle, along with SSgt. Patrick Welch and Lt. Merle Vloud went down in the North Sea and their. bodies were never recovered. All 3 listed on the Wslm of the Missing at Margarten Cemetery.

My uncle was George Powell and he bailed out of Canadian Club on January 21st, 1944. The story stated here is correct after giving the bailout bell the Pilot put the aircraft in a steep dive and the fire was extinguished. The aircraft in the this returned to base its name was changed again as seen in the photo above to „Boss“. My assumption was that returning the aircraft to Full Mission Capability would be too expensive and the aircraft „Boss“ was likely used for personal and material transfers between Army Air Forces England. If any on has more photos of Canadian Club and logo on the Aircraft please contact me.
