Delivered Denver 16/6/43; Kearney 17/7/43; Assigned 568BS/390BG [BI-B] Framlingham 25/7/43 SIX NIGHTS IN TELERGMA (ARABIAN NUTS); changed to BI-G after loss of 42-30017; damaged on Oschersleben mission 21/1/44 with Capt Jim Waggoner, Ball turret gunner: George Agaisottelis, Waist gunner: Murrell Reynolds,Tail gunner: Floyd Daugherty (4 Returned to Duty); Navigator: John Harms, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Gaetano Friuli, Radio Operator: George Powell (3 evaded capture); Co-pilot: Alf Pelka, Bombardier: Jerome McLaughlin, Waist gunner: Jim Wood (3 Prisoner of War); flak hit set entire wing burning and aircraft plunged down, however the pilot maintained control and a vertical drive put out the fire, BTG salvoed bombs and acted as co-pilot with TG taking over as radio operator and plane returned to base, where it was repaired and put back into operation. 21 Januar 1944: flak hit set entire wing burning and aircraft plunged down, however the pilot maintained control and a vertical drive put out the fire, BTG salvoed bombs and acted as co-pilot with TG taking over as radio operator and plane returned to base, where it was repaired and put back into operation.
