My father, Harry Poplawski, was the top turret gunner and Tsgt. in the Piccadilly Queen. During his 25 missions the plane was never lost by enemy aircraft. Was there another crew assigned to this plane after he was discharged, and Gia Owen was in his place when the plane was downed?

Yes, I am not sure when but around 7 missions before the plane crashed the new crew flew “Picadilly Queen”. Notestein’s crew likely took over the plane after your dad’s 25 missions.
