Hi, my dad flew the Stage Door Canteen in WWII. Also flew “The Alamo”, out of Ridgwell, 381st.

My grandfather flew in Stage Door Canteen as well. He was there from roughly Feb ’44 – July ’44 as a ball turret gunner. His crew received this plane in April ’44 after their first plane was shot up. In the photos of Mary Churchill christening the plane, he is shortest guy in the picture (hence why they stuck him in the ball.

My grandfather, Dave (goose) Gildin was a tail gunner on this ship. Not sure when he was over there. I saw a picture of him kneeling on the ground next to the tail after it was nearly shot off. He was a great man. I miss him.

My late father Myron E. Gates served as radio operator aboard Stagedoor Canteen mid 1944. Crawford T. Marbury was the pilot during that time.

I think my step dad , Jeremiah O’Neill flew that plane. I don’t know the dates. But I have a photograph.

I knew Charles L. Majors, who flew several positions on Stage Door Canteen. Bombardier, Radio Operator, ball turret gunner. he was shot down twice over Europe and survived.
