Zu Beginn der Operationen war es schon bemerkenswert, wenn eine B-17 Fliegende Festung 25 und später 35 Einsätze schaffte. Dass es durchaus auch mehr als 100 Einsätze sein können, beweisen die B-17 Fliegenden Festungen der folgenden Auflistung. Diese Maschinen sind alle mindestens 100 Einsätze geflogen.
